Conservation and Community
on Hampstead Heath

Heath Hands helps conserve 350 hectares of amazing green spaces including Hampstead Heath in North London. We work across Hampstead Heath, Highgate Wood, Keats House and the Kenwood Estate delivering a wide range of volunteering, community, learning and nature related programmes.

What’s new?

Support our swimming pond appeal!

After recent improvements to accessibility at the Hampstead Heath swimming ponds, works are needed to landscape the construction sites and green up the new disabled changing facilities.

Please help us with a donation to landscape these areas and enhance them for wildlife.

What we do

Heath conservation

Conserving our green spaces

Our conservation and practical programmes help manage the unique landscapes of Hampstead Heath and nearby green spaces. We work to conserve the Heath for both wildlife and people, deliver various wildlife monitoring projects and improve habitat connectivity.

Staff teams across the green spaces lead many thousands of volunteers and hundreds of groups throughout the year. We work in partnership with the City of London Corporation and English Heritage to deliver our conservation and maintenance programmes.

Getting Communities Involved

Our event and community programmes support people to get active on the Heath. We help people of all backgrounds and abilities to get involved in volunteering and recreation on our green spaces, delivering a range of activities and events and working to ensure that our green spaces are welcoming and accessible for all.
